Sony Xperia i1 Honami - the first true Android imaging flagship?

It took a while, but it is almost here now.
2013 is shaping up to be the year when Android vendors finally started paying attention to the quality of pictures their devices take. Few devices are there yet, but if the deluge of rumors are to be believed, we are in for a treat for some great Android cameraphones in the second half of the year.

We already got the first taste of better low light Android pics with HTC One, even if the overall pixel count and daylight photo quality suffered a bit. Today We Also Heard About Samsung's Galaxy S4 Zoom Camera centric version, Google execs have Been Promising Serious Camera improvements for the next Nexus and Motorola Devices for months.
And then there is Sony. Which, in its heyday, set the camera phone standards with its Sony Ericsson Cybershot feature phones. Now that mobile division is fully back in the Japanese parent's fold, they are planning bring all the imaging know-how into a one flagship device.

Scheduled for release this fall, codenamed Honami, the new device will most likely be called Sony Xperia i1. And it will come with:

• 5 "108p FullHD display with Triluminos technology
• 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU 800
• 2 GB of RAM
• 16-20 megapixel camera with 1/1.6 "sensor, Xenon flash
• 2700-300 mAh battery
• water and dust resistance
• 10 mm thick

Looking at how well current Xperia Z is doing by most accounts, and if the specs above are real, Sony may have an even bigger hit on its hand for this Holiday season.
And we will finally have the first true Android imaging flagship.
