Verizon’s Nokia Lumia 928 can be ordered now, will ship “by May 20″

Windows Phone and / or Nokia fans in the US can now order Verizon’s exclusive Lumia 928 smartphone.
The 928 costs $99.99 on contract, or $499.99 without any agreement. For some unknown reason, though, Verizon can’t ship the handset right away – it currently says that it should be delivered “by May 20” to customers who are ordering it online today. Most probably, you’ll be able to find the smartphone in retail stores anyway.

Like AT&T’s Lumia 920 (available since late 2012), the Nokia Lumia 928 comes with an 8MP PureView rear camera – one of the best ever included into a smartphone – and it even adds a Xenon flash.
The rest of its features include
  • 4.5 inch PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack display with 1280 x 768 pixels
  • LTE connectivity
  • Nokia Here
  • NFC
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor
  • 32GB of internal memory
  • MicroSD card slot
  • Wireless charging capabilities
  • A 2,000 mAh battery
Verizon is selling three other WP8 devices: Nokia Lumia 822 (free on contract), Samsung Ativ Odyssey ($49.99 on contract), and HTC 8X ($99.99 on contract).
Meanwhile, Nokia’s other new high-end Windows Phone 8 handset – the Lumia 925 – has appeared over at T-Mobile’s website. Sadly, there is no word on exactly when the fourth largest North American carrier will launch the 925. But it might happen in June.
