HTC Desire 600 available now (only in China – 606w model), costs around $400

Two days ago, HTC has announced the Desire 200 as its cheapest Android smartphone ever (it costs about $170). It turns out that its other new Desire – the dual SIM 600 – isn’t that expensive, either. Or at least not as expensive as we’ve initially reported when we told you pre-orders had started in Russia.

The Chinese version of the Desire 600, called Desire 606w, is now available to purchase, and it costs 2,499 CNY – meaning around $408, or €309. Customers can get it in three color versions: black, white, and brown.
The Desire 600 will be released this month in other markets, including the already-mentioned Russia, and Taiwan – where it will go on sale on June 28 (for 12,900 TWD – around $428), the same day when the Butterfly S becomes available there.
We don’t know if HTC is planning to sell the Desire 600 in Western Europe. It will probably not reach North America anyway. Unlike the Desire 200, which is a low-end smartphone (as it should be at that price)
