Waterproof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active announced, will be launched this summer

It has finally happened. Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S4 Active – its first high-end waterproof and dustproof smartphone (IP67).
We’ve seen it before, and we’ve heard a lot of rumors about it – most of which were accurate. Built as a tougher version of the original S4,

The Galaxy S4 Active Features:
  • 5 inch Full HD display that “can be fully operated while wearing gloves”
  • Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
  • LTE
  • NFC
  • Wi-Fi Direct
  • IrDA
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Quad-core 1.9 GHz processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of (expandable) internal memory
  • A 2,600 mAh battery.
  • An 8MP camera with LED flash can be found on the back
  • While the front-facing camera is a 2MP one.
  • The new smartphone weighs 151 grams
  • Measures 139.7 x 71.3 x 9.1 mm, thus being only slightly larger than the regular S4
Interestingly, the Galaxy S4 Active will be available first in the US and Sweden, sometime starting “this summer.” It will have three color versions: Urban Grey, Orange Flare, and Dive Blue (this is probably the teal version spotted a few days ago). AT&T should be one of the carriers to offer the handset in the US.
Later this month, on June 20, Samsung will announce even more new devices. Since the S4 Mini and S4 Active are already official, we’ll probably see the S4 Zoom on that day (plus at least one Windows Phone product).via
