Nokia teases laptop, tablet and phablet for Abu Dhabi event on October 22

Nokia has teased yet another image of the Abu Dhabi event and this time it is not a skyscraper or desert skiing, but three devices, a phablet, tablet and laptop. This is a pretty surprising tease from Nokia, considering we have limited news on the tablet and no idea the company was preparing to make a laptop, one that sort of looks like a Chromebook.
The same image on all three devices points to them all being Windows 8 devices in some shape, the phone will obviously run Windows Phone 8, hopefully with the much anticipated GDR3 update, finally adding 1080p and quad-core support.

We know quite a bit about the Nokia Lumia 1520, it will be the first Windows Phone 8 phablet with support for GDR3. Nokia has kept their smartphones down to size, not stepping over five-inches, but the Nokia Lumia 1520 will come with a huge 6-inch screen.

We are not sure if the tablet will run Windows RT or Windows 8, from the outlook everyone would point to Windows 8 as being more of a safe bet, but with Nokia’s current position, they may be pushed to make a Windows RT tablet.

As for the Windows laptop, we had no idea Nokia was preparing to make a move in the PC market. This is a pretty safe move, considering the PC market is in a steady decline, we doubt they will make a ton of these laptops, but enough to satisfy customer demand.

This has upped-the-ante for Nokia, as this will be their last event before the inventible move to Microsoft. Nokia has set the event in Abu Dhabi on October 22.

We still don’t know what Microsoft is planning to do with the 32,000 workers from Nokia, after seeing Google just lay off most of Motorola’s staff, we wonder if this is Microsoft’s gameplan. We cannot see the software company wanting a huge manufacturing line.
