HTC T6 phablet with Android Key Lime Pie to challenge Samsung’s Galaxy Note III?

With Samsung being so successful at selling large Android handsets – call them phablets if you will – other manufacturers are also mulling the idea of entering this newly-created market.
LG is already doing great with its 5.5 inch Optimus G Pro, although the company still calls this particular device a smartphone.

Semantics aside, we’re hearing that HTC is planning to launch a 5.9 inch Full HD Android device, currently codenamed T6. According to The Unlockr / EVleaks,
The HTC T6 will come with
  • Quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor
  • Boom Sound speakers
  • An Ultrapixel rear camera
  • 2.1MP front-facing camera
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of expandable internal memory
  • A 3300 mAh battery.
  • It’s said that the T6 won’t run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • But a newer iteration of the OS
  • Most likely called Android Key Lime Pie (as lots of rumors suggested before).
The T6 should have “a nicely crafted stylus with an ultra-thin tip capable of a full suite of content creation and manipulation capabilities.” Design-wise, it should follow in the footsteps of HTC One – so expect a well-built device.
Unfortunately, there is no word on when HTC wants to release the T6. In any case, towards the end of 2013 is probably a good guess.
One of the main competitors of the HTC T6 will be Samsung’s Galaxy Note III. Reportedly, this also sports a Full HD display of around 6 inches, plus lots and lots of other high-end features.
