41MP camera for Nokia Eos confirmed. International version may have hit the FCC

We still have a few weeks left before Nokia’s July 11 announcement, where the company will introduce a new product that’s bound to “reinvent zoom.” This, of course, is the long-rumored Nokia Eos. While the smartphone will likely have a different name at launch, its 41MP rear camera has been subtly confirmed by Nokia on its official blog – in a post announcing that we have “41 million reason” to wait for July 11.

The Eos will be Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 handset to have a 41MP PureView camera, and the second overall – after the Symbian-based 808 released last year.

Great camera aside, the new handset should feature a 4.5 inch PureMotion HD+ display, LTE, dual-core processor, and 32GB of internal memory.
The international version of the Eos may have been approved by the FCC yesterday as the RM-875. Earlier this month, a RM-877 was also approved, and it’s believed that this is AT&T’s version of the Eos. It remains to be seen where the new smartphone will be released first.
Nokia’s other two high-end WP8 handsets introduced this year – Lumia 928 and Lumia 925 – also come with PureView technology, but they only have 8MP camera sensors. The Lumia 928 is already available in the US (via Verizon), while the Lumia 925 will be sold by T-Mobile starting later this month.
