The mass production of iPhone 5C motivates another complaint for labor exploitation

China Labor Watch, the organization that denounced the violation of labor rights of workers in Pegatron or Foxconn, returns to remind us that in China continue to be violated workers rights. However, this time the affected were those of the Jabil Circuits, lesser-known Apple partner factories in China. The list of offenses is long. Os the detail below.

Much of the electronics manufacturers operating in China are under scrutiny for labor conditions to which subject their employees. Apple is one of the more "pressured" by the popularity of its brand and products. In fact they are known to the many problems that have been reported in Foxconn plants, including facilities where there have been numerous suicides by the precarious and demanding working conditions.

However, not only the Asian manufacturers fail to comply with established protocols. China Labor Watch has uncovered that Jabil Circuit, one of the lesser known members of Apple, does not respect the rights of its workforce. The highlight is that Jabil Circuits, although operating in different geographical areas, including China, is an American company based in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The events would have been detected and motivated by the mass production of iPhone 5C. The large volume of orders expected motivated team that manufacturers would build in the coming weeks millions and millions of units to meet the strong demand after its presentation. This situation would have been the trigger for Jabil subject their workers to long hours, among many other inhuman demands. Note that this company would be primarily responsible for the other manufacturers to supply the housing of the new model.

Among the list of violations would be endless work more than 11 hours a day, standing. Workers would stop only half an hour to eat. In fact, the record of workers would figure one hour less every day in order to cover up regulatory bodies so much overtime. Even this time, presumably voluntary become "mandatory". China Labor Watch also alleged that employees of Jabil accumulate up to 110 hours of overtime a month, three times more than allowed by law, of which most are not financially rewarded and those that are made for less than it should. The study estimates that the company owed millions of dollars to the template that has not yet gained and is not expected to do so.

The violation of the rights of employees in Jabil is longer still since they are subjected to a process of learning enough to the point that examiners provide the answers to the tests performed for selection. When to apply knowledge on security, many workers violate the security measures over the unknown. It has also emerged that hiring people is subjected to screening by age and sex discrimination. You can see so many "tricks" through the work report by China Watch from this link .
