iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c coming to Virgin Mobile USA on October 1

Virgin Mobile USA will be joining regional carriers in the U.S. to start offering iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on Tuesday, October 1. Virgin Mobile is the prepaid service provider and the wholly owned subsidiary of Sprint. Virgin Mobile announced its plans on Twitter. Virgin started offering iPhone 5 only in June this year, so it comes as a surprise that it plans to offer Apple’s new iPhones so soon.

iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available with prepaid plans starting at $35 per month for 300 minutes along with unlimited data and text. Customers get a $5 discount when they signup for auto monthly payments. Virgin also offers a $55 per month plan for 1200 minutes and a $45 per month plan for unlimited calling. Virgin starts throttling data after a monthly soft cap of 2.5GB.

Apple’s new iPhones went on sale in 10 countries including the US, Canada, China, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore last Friday, September 20.

Apple has announced that the new iPhones will be available in 100 countries by the end of the year. However, the supply constraints at least for the iPhone 5s seems to be delaying the launch in additional countries, as last year Apple had launched iPhone 5 in 22 new countriesand on U.S. regional carriers just a week after it was launched in the U.S. Via MacRumors.
