Samsung Galaxy Note III to have a 13MP camera with OIS. Optical zoom also considered

Samsung will hold a major press event on June 20 in London, and one of the devices expected to be announced there is the Galaxy Note III. Assuming the new Note won’t be showcased then, it will certainly be introduced later this year.

Until we get to know exactly when it will be unveiled, here we have fresh rumors about the Note III. According to Korean website ET News, Samsung will equip the handset with a 13MP rear camera. This will be better than the 13MP unit found on the Galaxy S4, because – the website says – it’s going to feature optical image stabilization (OIS), plus various other enhancements. Reportedly, Samsung is also trying to include optical zoom. However, it’s having problems with keeping the device thin in this case, so it might drop the idea.
Even without optical zoom, the 13MP camera on the Note III should be pretty awesome – Nokia has already demonstrated the benefits of OIS with its latest Lumia smartphones.
The original Galaxy Note and the Note II were (and still are) successful. And Samsung really knows how to market its Android devices – see the 10 million Galaxy S4 units sold until now – so the Note III, expected to sport a 6 inch Full HD screen, has considerable chances to be a hit, too.
