Sprint has announced that its subsidiaries Boost Mobile and Virgin
Mobile would launch the Samsung Galaxy S III starting June. Yes, the S
III isn’t a new device, and it’s been eclipsed by the Galaxy S4, but its
availability through Boost and Virgin will allow customers to buy the
handset on flexible no-contract plans.
Exact pricing details haven’t been unveiled, but we know that the S III from Boost and Virgin will run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean at launch, being compatible with Sprint’s LTE network.
Sprint has also unveiled the Kyocera Hydro Edge – a new waterproof smartphone that’s “built to withstand sprayed water, or submersion in up to 3.28 feet of fresh water for 30 minutes.”
