Asus MeMO Pad Smart 10 will be available in the US on March 5 for $299

The 10-inch Asus MeMO Pad, or Asus MeMO Pad Smart 10, or whatever else the Taiwanese company will call it next, is due for release in the United States very soon. In just four short days, that is.
This tablet will be in stores on March 5, so on Tuesday, and it will set you back just $299. For a 10-inch tablet, that’s pretty great, but as you’d expect, the specs are in tune with the small price.

The bigger of the two MeMO Pads got its release date in the UK a few days ago, alongside pricing. So now we find out that Asus will push this in the US too, and probably pretty hard. And that’s good, since the market needs more decent cheap 10-inchers.
  • The Asus MeMO Pad Smart 10 has a 10.1-inch 1,280×800 touchscreen
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB of internal storage
  • MicroSD card slot
  • 5 MP autofocus rear camera
  • 1.2 MP front camera
  • Micro HDMI
  • SRS audio
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
In certain respects, this is just like a larger Nexus 7 – same resolution, same processor, but running an older version of the OS. Yet it has a microSD card slot and a rear camera, something the Nexus 7 doesn’t. via Liliputing via Phandroid
