LG Optimus L9 II gets its upper half photographed, specs leaked, June unveiling rumored

Recently, LG has been gaining ground in the Android world. Partly that’s been thanks to high-end devices such as the Optimus G, Nexus 4, and Optimus G Pro. But in terms of sales numbers, probably the most important reason for the company’s increased success has been the L series.

Originally announced last year, it contains stylish and affordable devices that range from low-end all the way to upper-midrange. The combination of decent looks, decent specs, and decent pricing seems to have worked wonders for LG. This year it’s unveiled the Optimus L3 II, L5 II, and L7 II already, and just yesterday we heard rumors that an L4 might join them in the near future (interestingly though, there was no L4 last year, so it will be interesting to see whether LG will call it L4 II just to match the others, or simply L4).
Late last year we got the Optimus L9 on the market, and now it looks like it too is about to get a successor. You guessed it, they’ll call it Optimus L9 II. This device got spotted in a benchmark, and a leaked image showing the upper part of it has been sent to TechTastic. It’s above this paragraph for your viewing pleasure. The Optimus L9 II is apparently going to be announced in June.
Sure, that image doesn’t really tell us much, but the benchmark results do.
  • The Optimus L9 II should have a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS touchscreen
  • 1.4 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • It runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with LG’s UI on top
No other specs are known yet, but expect them to pop up soon if the L9 II is to make its debut this summer.
