Motorola Droid Maxx could come with 48-hour battery life, whatever that means

Like we’ve been telling you for the past few days, Motorola is working on a new Maxx smartphone for Verizon. This will follow the original Droid RAZR Maxx and the Droid RAZR Maxx HD from last year. The new device, which will simply be called Droid Maxx, will certainly come with a huge battery (the two handsets before it both boasted a 3,300 mAh capacity), and as such battery life will be its main claim to fame (that is, if Moto sticks to tradition and makes it otherwise 100% identical to the upcoming Droid Ultra).

Now the bigger battery that we should expect in the Droid Maxx has been confirmed, sort of, by a leak of a purported commercial story board. This features the main points that will be made in an upcoming ad for the Droid Maxx, and among them is the phrase “48 hours of worry-free battery life, the new DROID MAXX”.

So Motorola won’t promise you a little, it will, in fact, promise you a lot. Whether or not the Droid Maxx really will be able to deliver two-day battery life is a matter of use. We’re assuming that Motorola wasn’t thinking about power users when going for this claim, but more ‘moderate’ smartphone users – yet how do you define that? Who knows.
The point is, the company wants to highlight that this device will get more use than its competitors (and that, ironically, may include its sibling, the Droid Ultra), and that will probably be true regardless of how many actual hours of use you’ll get out of it.via Android Central
