Sony’s brand new Xperia ZR Android smartphone should be available starting the end of June – although not all countries will get it. As previously reported, customers in the UK, Germany or France won’t be able to buy it directly.
However, where it will be launched, the Xperia ZR is going to cost about €400.
According to Xperia Blog, the new Xperia will be released in the Netherlands for €479 in July. Belgium and the Nordic countries should have the smartphone at about the same time.
Meanwhile, Sony allows you to win an Xperia ZR on Facebook. You need to enter this competition by May 27, answer a question, and talk about how the Xperia ZR would “play a role at your perfect pool party.” The Terms and Conditions of the contest (see here) confirm that the ZR has “an approximate value of 400 EUR.”
The Xperia ZR is slightly smaller than Sony’s Xperia Z flagship, but
its waterproof abilities have been increased from IP57 to IP58 – this
making it perfect for taking photos and shooting video (Full HD)
underwater.
