It’s Computex week in Taiwan’s capital Taipei, and Asus wanted to
make sure it wouldn’t go unnoticed at the event. So it’s taken to
announcing many new devices, such as the all-new Transformer Pad
Infinity, the Memo Pad HD 7, the Memo Pad FHD 10, and the Fonepad Note
FHD 6.
Convoluted names aside, these are some interesting products.
The new Transformer Pad Infinity is obviously the successor to the tablet of the same name that got unveiled last year. The sequel turns out to definitely have been something worth waiting for.
Asus also unveiled its first ever phablet today. It’s called Fonepad Note FHD 6, and its name does hint at a few specs.
Pricing info or a release date for the Fonepad Note FHD 6 haven’t been announced yet.
Moving along we are arriving into affordable tablet territory, where Asus has introduced the Memo Pad FHD 10 and the Memo Pad HD 7. These are going to be the company’s mass market offerings in the tablet space, so if they get released in as many places as possible they should be able to sell well.
Finally we have what’s going to be the cheapest product out of this batch,
The Asus Memo Pad HD 7.
It will be available in black, white, pink, and green this July for
$129 (the 8 GB version) or $149 (the 16 GB model). The cheaper option
will only be sold in emerging markets, at least at first, while the $149
tablet will be making it to the US as well.
