AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 appears at the Bluetooth SIG. Unlocked version available now in some places

Alongside the Galaxy S4 Active (officially announced a couple of days ago), AT&T will release quite a few other Samsung Android handsets later this year. Among them, we’ve heard about the Galaxy Mega 6.3, rumored to have the model number SGH-i527 at AT&T.

Now the Samsung SGH-i527 has appeared at the Bluetooth SIG, where we can see it’s made for North America. So we could take this as a semi-confirmation that the Mega 6.3 is indeed headed to the second largest US carrier.
However, until AT&T’s Galaxy Mega 6.3 gets official, you should know that the unlocked version of the device is already available both in the US, and in the UK.
Expansys US is asking $595 for the Mega 6.3, while Unlocked-Mobiles is selling it in the UK for £498.97.
Running the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean,
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 Features
  • 1280 x 720 pixels display (6.3 inches, of course)
  • LTE connectivity (market dependent)
  • 8MP rear camera with LED flash
  • 1.9MP front-facing camera
  • 1.5GB of RAM
  • dual-core 1.7GHz processor
  • 8GB / 16GB of internal memory
  • MicroSD card support (up to 64GB)
  • A 3,200 mAh battery
A Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 also exists – this will be cheaper than the Mega 6.3, as it only features a qHD display and a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, without supporting LTE networks.
