Google’s new Nexus 7 (Asus K009) probably photographed

Expected to go on sale in July, Google’s next-generation Nexus 7 tablet has seemingly appeared in a photo over at the Bluetooth SIG. The SIG does not say the tablet it’s showing is the new Nexus 7, but the Asus K009. However, according to the FCC, which has recently approved the K009, this is an LTE-capable Nexus device.

The K009 is described by the Bluetooth SIG as featuring “a 7 inch LED-backlit capacitive multitouch screen for easy carrying and fantastic multi-media experience everywhere. It is empowered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core CPU with the highest performance.”
With all these details in front of us, we can only conclude that this has to be the next-generation Nexus 7.
The screen resolution of the upcoming tablet is still unknown, but it might be higher than 1280 x 800 pixels. In any case, the new Nexus should come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (which hasn’t been announced yet), a 5MP rear camera, 1.2MP front-facing camera, and a 3,950 mAh battery.
While the photo of the new tablet – see below – is too small for a clear view, we can see that the bezel around the display is a bit thinner than on the current Nexus 7.

Asus is also the manufacturer of the first-generation Nexus 7, which uses an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and costs $199 (16GB version), or $249 (32GB). Prices for the new Nexus tablet might start at $229.
