New Samsung Galaxy S4 with LTE Advanced confirmed, could be launched this month (in Korea)

Samsung’s Mobile Chief J.K. Shin has confirmed that a Galaxy S4 version with support for LTE Advanced would be released in South Korea soon, possibly before the end of June.
The S4 with LTE-A will be slightly more expensive than the regular LTE edition, using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip – probably because Samsung doesn’t have (yet) an Exynos chip to support LTE Advanced.

According to Reuters, “Samsung was in talks with several overseas carriers to take the phone.” Unfortunately, the carriers have not been named. Also unknown are the South Korean operators that will offer the upgraded S4.
In any case, since it’s going to make its commercial debut in the next few weeks, the new Galaxy S4 will be the world’s first LTE Advanced smartphone.
Both AT&T and Verizon seem to be ready to provide LTE Advanced services in the US later this year, but exact details are still missing.
LTE Advanced is true 4G ( while LTE isn’t, technically being 3.9G), allowing data transfers at theoretical peak rates of more than 1 Gbps.

Initially launched in LTE or 3G-only versions back in April, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is selling very well, being the most successful high-end Android smartphone ever. 10 million units have been shipped around the world in less than 30 days.
