Huawei Ascend P6 specs get leaked alongside shots of the new Emotion UI

In seven short days, Huawei will hold an event during which it will unveil its newest creation, the Ascend P6. Strange name aside (hint: the company skipped P3, P4, and P5), this is shaping up to be a decent smartphone that will be all about the looks – and the thickness.
Or rather, the thinness, as it’s bound to be the next ‘world’s slimmest smartphone’, at least for a few weeks.
The handset has been leaking like crazy recently, even Huawei itself has dropped more than a few teasers already. We’ve had rumored specs for all this time, but now we get another round of leaked specs courtesy of the usually reliable @evleaks.
According to this source, the Huawei Ascend P6 will come
  • 4.7-inch 720p HD touchscreen
  • 1.5 GHz quad-core processor
  • 8 MP BSI rear camera with macro capabilities starting at 4 cm
  • 5 MP front-facing camera with “face enhance”
Huawei’s new Emotion UI (pictured above) will sit nicely atop Android. The handset is once again said to be 6.18 mm thin.
High-res front cameras are a thing in China, where phones sporting them are marketed primarily to women, for use in self-portraits or even as a mirror. The addition of that 5 MP front snapper in the Ascend P6 seems to imply that Huawei will strive to make this trend global, and the “face enhance” software definitely sounds like something connected to such a marketing push. It also helps that the P6 is slim and beautiful, of course.
