Nokia announced that its latest Asha handset, the small Asha 501,
would start shipping this week in some Asian markets (in both single,
and dual SIM versions). Specifically, customers in Thailand and Pakistan
should be able to buy the phone in the next few days, with India to get
it shortly after that.
Next week, the new Asha will be released in other Asian markets, as well as in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It will also go on sale in Latin America, but only in “late summer.”
