Sprint’s HTC Tiara (with Windows Phone 8) and ZTE Vital / Quantum hit the FCC

When Sprint announced that it would offer Windows Phone 8 devices later this year, it said its first Microsoft-powered handsets would come from Samsung and HTC. These should be the Samsung Ativ S, and the HTC Tiara. While the HTC Tiara hasn’t been officially confirmed, it looks like it’s just passed the FCC – as the HTC PO88100, which has both CDMA and Sprint-specific LTE connectivity.

We don’t know exactly when Sprint will release the new WP8 handset from HTC, but it should happen this summer. Besides LTE,
The Tiara Should Feature:
  • 4.3 inch WVGA display
  • NFC
  • 8MP rear camera
  • 1GB of RAM
  • dual-core 1.2GHz processor
It isn’t a high-end device, so Sprint could sell it for less than $100 on contract.
Another smartphone that’s coming to Sprint soon is the ZTE N8910. First seen as the ZTE Quantum, then as the ZTE Vital, the N8910 has been also approved by the FCC today – LTE connectivity included.
The Vital / Quantum runs Android Jelly Bean, and
Features:
  • 5 inch HD (1280 x 720) display
  • NFC
  • 13MP rear camera with flash
  • Dual-core 1.5GHz processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB of internal memory
  • A 2,500 mAh battery
It could be launched pretty soon, most probably also for less than $100 on contract.
